As a special treat for the “Year of Firsts” at the Kauri Sue Hamilton School, Sheriff Jim Winder, with the Salt Lake County Unified Police Department brought the Easter Bunny to greet the students. Officers accompanied the Easter Bunny as he went into each classroom and handed out stuffed bunnies and sheriff’s badges. Although some students were reluctant at first, they quickly warmed up as they watched the Easter Bunny give high fives and hugs and saw their friends get their pictures taken. Principal Rita Bouillon said, “The Sheriff visited with students throughout the morning and into the afternoon and his staff shed a tear or two at some of the reactions of the students.” ★
