As part of the Read Across America celebrations, West Jordan Mayor Melissa Johnson visited Hayden Peak Elementary to share her favorite book, “Jungle Drums,” with the students.  The mayor’s visit was broadcast to the school as part of the morning news show.  A grant from Read Across America allowed the school to give free books to all kindergarten and first-grade children.  Hayden Peak literacy facilitator Jayne Wassom helped coordinate these activities. ★
