Jordan Education Foundation Awards

The Jordan Education Foundation recently presented the Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Special Educator Awards.  Recipients received $1,000 and a crystal memento.  All awards were made possible by private and business donations to the foundation.

Jordan Youth Symphony Final Concert

The Jordan Youth Symphony final concert was held on May 10 at Elk Ridge Middle.  Students performed pieces that were presented at the Youth Symphony Invitational of Utah and at elementary schools.  The symphony performed a brief encore at the May 11 Board meeting.  The conductors of the symphony include Keith Davis, Elk Ridge Middle; Lauren Flygare, West Jordan Middle; Lena Wood, Midvale Middle; Roelof Vel, retired.

Teacher Transfer Procedures

Jordan School District recently began posting job openings for secondary teachers. Positions will be advertised daily and will close to transfer requests after five working days up until June 1.  After June 1, all position advertisements will remain open until filled.  Teachers may apply for transfer to a posted position by submitting the transfer request form to the Human Resources Department by the posted closing date and time. After a teacher has submitted one transfer form and resume, requests for transfer to additional openings can be accomplished by calling Human Resources no later than the published closing date. Transfer Request forms may be obtained from your principal, and will be accepted until 10 working days prior to the last day of new teacher induction as stated in policy DP304 NEG.
